{"id":989,"date":"2008-06-12T10:16:41","date_gmt":"2008-06-12T18:16:41","guid":{"rendered":"\/?p=989"},"modified":"2008-06-23T07:44:01","modified_gmt":"2008-06-23T15:44:01","slug":"federation-the-promise-of-potentially-transforming-our-business","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.identityblog.com\/?p=989","title":{"rendered":"Federation:  the promise of potentially transforming our business"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Ping&#39;s Andre Durand\u00a0has announced an award that not\u00a0only says good things about his company, but is a\u00a0crystal clear indication of the importance federated identity technology will inevitably acquire\u00a0as people adopt it:\u00a0<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>&#8220;A few days ago Morgan Stanley awarded Ping their CTO Summit Innovation Award. <em>Ping was the sole recipient of this years award<\/em>, which recognizes those which hold the \u00a0promise of potentially transforming Morgan Stanley\u2019s business. VMware won the award in 2005 &#8212; we really like that comparison! Who knew virtualization was going to be as big as it is today 3 or 4 years ago?<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<br \/>\n&#8220;Every year Morgan Stanley receives around 200 applications from companies to present at their CTO Summit. \u00a0They internally vote and select 36 to present. Of these, only four ever get as far as contracts and of those, only one receives this award. \u00a0We presented Ping Identity and our product, PingFederate back in 2006 (is the ulterior motive obvious enough?). \u00a0As hoped, earlier this year Morgan Stanley became a customer, using our technology to secure and integrate their employees\u2019 use of on-demand applications such as Salesforce.com among other things.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n&#8220;It\u2019s great to finally see identity federation receive the recognition it deserves for enabling companies to secure their virtual borders.
