{"id":84,"date":"2005-08-07T05:41:18","date_gmt":"2005-08-07T05:41:18","guid":{"rendered":"\/?p=84"},"modified":"-0001-11-30T00:00:00","modified_gmt":"-0001-11-30T04:00:00","slug":"craig-shrinks-kim-after-slashdotting","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.identityblog.com\/?p=84","title":{"rendered":"Craig &#8216;Shrinks&#8217; Kim after slashdotting"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.craigburton.com\/\">Craig Burton<\/a> and I spent some time recently figuring out what we could learn from the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.slashdot.com\/\">slashdot<\/a> community&#39;s <a href=\"http:\/\/yro.slashdot.org\/article.pl?sid=05\/07\/23\/2118251&amp;tid=158\">reactions<\/a> to the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.identityblog.com\/stories\/2004\/12\/09\/thelaws.html\" class=\"broken_link\">Laws of Identity<\/a> (reactions which I first discussed <a href=\"https:\/\/www.identityblog.com\/2005\/07\/26.html#a294\" class=\"broken_link\">here<\/a>).  Our conversation is available in <a href=\"http:\/\/audio.identityblog.com:8080\/2005\/08\/06\/slashdot.mp3\">mp3<\/a> and in <a href=\"http:\/\/audio.identityblog.com:8080\/2005\/08\/06\/slashdot.wma\">wma<\/a> (about 17 minutes). <\/p>\n<p>We look at anonymity, and I ask Craig whether people will get the idea that in the digital world, anonymity is a form of digital identity in which there are <strong>no claims<\/strong>.  <\/p>\n<p>We discuss what Craig calls &#8220;the architectural weakness&#8221; of schemes based on &#8220;deny assertions&#8221; &#8211; commonly known as &#8220;blacklists&#8221; or &#8220;deny ACEs&#8221;.  <\/p>\n<p>And Craig says some interesting things about how all of this relates to what Dick Hardt has called Identity 1.0 and 2.0.<\/p>\n<p>When I listened to the conversation I could see that in several places I used the word &#8220;identity&#8221; when I should have been saying &#8220;digital identity&#8221;.
