It enables developers to easily add support of all these emerging <a href=\"http:\/\/www.identity20.com\/\" target=\"\u00e2\u20ac\u009dblank\u00e2\u20ac\u009d\"><font color=\"#003a7d\">Identity 2.0<\/font><\/a> technologies to their site. The benefits of this for users is a common website login experience. For web developers, to streamline their user registration and login process so that they don\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t need to store user passwords, nor users needing to remember yet another password, thereby improving site conversion ratios. Future releases will also allow users if they so choose, release data about themselves with a single click.<\/p>\n<p>Given the interest shown at the recent <a href=\"http:\/\/conference.digitalidworld.com\/2006\/\" target=\"blank\"><font color=\"#003a7d\">DIDW<\/font><\/a> and <a href=\"http:\/\/www.carsonworkshops.com\/summit\/\" target=\"blank\" class=\"broken_link\"><font color=\"#003a7d\">Future of Web Apps<\/font><\/a> conferences from <a href=\"http:\/\/www.windley.com\/archives\/2006\/09\/whobar.shtml\" target=\"blank\"><font color=\"#003a7d\">Phil Windley<\/font><\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/reviews.cnet.com\/4531-10921_7-6637677.html\" target=\"blank\"><font color=\"#003a7d\">Rafe Needleman<\/font><\/a>, and others in the community, we\u00e2\u20ac\u2122ve made the Whobar technology available as open source. Whobar is written in PHP, but works like a proxy, so that the web application can be in any language. However, we\u00e2\u20ac\u2122ve also been contacted by several developers interested in contributing a port to C#\/.NET so stay tuned for additional modules.
