{"id":454,"date":"2006-05-22T08:10:15","date_gmt":"2006-05-22T16:10:15","guid":{"rendered":"\/?p=454"},"modified":"2006-05-22T08:24:13","modified_gmt":"2006-05-22T16:24:13","slug":"454","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.identityblog.com\/?p=454","title":{"rendered":"IF YOU PRICK THEM, DO THEY NOT BREED?"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Paul Madsen&#39;s ConnectID takes me to task&nbsp;in a piece called &#8220;<a href=\"http:\/\/connectid.blogspot.com\/2006\/05\/if-you-prick-us-do-we-not-breed.html\">If&nbsp;you prick us, do we not breed?<\/a>&#8221;&nbsp;<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>It seems Microsoft does not believe we Canadians have children.<\/p>\n<p><img style=\"display: block; margin: 0px auto 10px; cursor: hand; text-align: center\" src=\"\/wp-content\/images\/2006\/05\/canada-live-id.jpg\" border=\"0\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Perhaps this is part of &#8216;the plan&#8217;, discourage non-Americans from population growth by turning off for us all software features that facilitate family-based identity management? Brilliant!<\/p>\n<p>For myself, simply knowing that I&#39;d be on my own in the raising of additional offspring makes me feel less inclined to do my &#8220;bit&#8221; for Canada.<\/p>\n<p>Or maybe this is directly at <a href=\"https:\/\/www.identityblog.com\/\"><font color=\"#de7008\">Kim<\/font><\/a>&#8216;s instigation? Some long festering grudge against his homeland? Was he forced to go to the States for some <a href=\"http:\/\/www.health.gov.on.ca\/\"><font color=\"#de7008\">two-tier<\/font><\/a> medical procedure and carries his resentment to this day?<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Some might have&nbsp;dismissed this complaint as a being merely specious, but out of completeness I did a search and found this&nbsp;shocking statistic:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>Canada&#39;s birth rate fell two years ago to its lowest level since 1921, when the agency began keeping records, according to Statistics Canada.&nbsp; The federal agency said on Monday that Canada&#39;s &#8220;crude birth rate,&#8221; which measures the number of live births per thousand Canadians, fell to 10.5 in 2002.<\/p>\n<table cellspacing=\"4\" cellpadding=\"0\" width=\"220\" align=\"right\">\n<tr>\n<td align=\"center\"><img loading=\"lazy\" height=\"162\" hspace=\"3\" src=\"\/wp-content\/images\/2006\/05\/birth-stats.jpg\" width=\"220\" border=\"0\" \/><\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<tr>\n<td align=\"center\">\n<div class=\"caption\"><font face=\"verdana,arial\" size=\"1\"><em \/><\/font><\/div>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/table>\n<p>The rate declined by slightly more than a quarter in the decade between 1992 and 2002, according to the report.<\/p>\n<p>In 2002 Canadian women gave birth to 328,802 babies, down 1.5 per cent from the year before.
