I wrote to\u00a0InfoCard-enable my site.<\/p>\n<p>Working on this, it became pretty clear that I needed to explain how tokens work before I could explain how the related code works.<\/p>\n<p>And then, since few people\u00a0so far have\u00a0access to InfoCard bits compatible with my site,\u00a0I saw that I needed to do a demo of\u00a0what the user experience would be, showing how InfoCards\u00a0actually work.<\/p>\n<p>Finally,\u00a0thanks to the review work of a number of colleagues\u00a0across\u00a0a number of different companies, I\u00a0have\u00a0a Simple InfoCard Tutorial and Demo ready for you to try out.\u00a0\u00a0Watch\u00a0the <strong>five-minute demo<\/strong>, and then follow <a href=\"\/?p=430\">this link\u00a0into the tutorial<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Are you using Windows Media player?\u00a0 Then use <a href=\"\/wp-content\/resources\/simple-infocard-demo\/simple-infocard-demo.avi\" class=\"broken_link\">this version of my demo<\/a>, encoded with the Techsmith Screen Capture Codec (TSCC).\u00a0 If your system complains that the codec isn&amp;#39t installed,\u00a0it is totally worth picking it up\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/download.techsmith.com\/tscc\/tscc.exe\" class=\"broken_link\">here<\/a>.\u00a0 It does a tremendous job of compressing demos.<\/p>\n<p>If your player doesn&amp;#39t support TSCC,\u00a0I hope\u00a0the <a href=\"\/wp-content\/resources\/simple-infocard-demo\/simple-infocard-demo.mov\" class=\"broken_link\">Quicktime version<\/a>\u00a0will help.\u00a0 I found I had to download the whole file, then click on the icon to open Quicktime, and then double click on the\u00a0demo image to make\u00a0the demo\u00a0start playing.\u00a0\u00a0Am I\u00a0doing something wrong?\u00a0 The biggest drawback\u00a0seems to be\u00a0that the encoding is\u00a0four (4) times larger than the TSCC version.\u00a0 But hey, it works, and\u00a0I like\u00a0the way you can drag the progress bar to\u00a0jump around within\u00a0the demo.<\/p>\n<p>Thanks to <a href=\"http:\/\/gocsi.com\/blog\/\" class=\"broken_link\">Robert Richardson<\/a> for helping me understand the codec issues.\u00a0 If others have advice for me, please send it, since I want to do more\u00a0demos in the near future.<\/p>\n<p>I&amp;#39ll be evolving this work over the next little while, so let me know about anything that is unclear.\u00a0 I&amp;#39ll\u00a0also add\u00a0some demos of what it looks like using InfoCards\u00a0on\u00a0 the compatible sites that have been created by <a href=\"http:\/\/xmldap.org\">Chuck Mortimer<\/a> and <span style=\"font-size: small;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/itickr.com\">Ashish Jain<\/a>.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Once I get more feedback on what can be improved, I&amp;#39ll assemble the tutorial into .pdf format, and make a zip\u00a0for downloading the samples, .<\/p>\n<p>Someone has asked me what intentions I have for this code.\u00a0 My only goal
