No center."},"content":{"rendered":"<p>As I wrote <a href=\"\/?p=1219\">here<\/a>, Mary Jo Foley&#39;s <a href=\"http:\/\/www.zdnet.com\/blog\/microsoft\/with-azure-active-directory-microsoft-wants-to-be-the-meta-id-hub\/13009\">interpretation <\/a>of one of the diagrams in John Shewchuk&#39;s second <a href=\"http:\/\/blogs.msdn.com\/b\/windowsazure\/archive\/2012\/06\/19\/reimagining-active-directory-for-the-social-enterprise-part-2.aspx\" class=\"broken_link\">WAAD post<\/a> made it clear we\u00a0needed to\u00a0get a lot visually crisper about what we were trying to show.\u00a0 So\u00a0I promised that we&#39;d go back to the drawing board.\u00a0\u00a0John put our next version out on twitter, got more\u00a0feedback (see comments below) and ended up with what Mary Jo\u00a0christened &#8220;Diagram 2.0&#8221;.\u00a0 Seriously, getting feedback from so many people\u00a0who bring\u00a0such different experiences to bear on something like this is amazing.\u00a0 I\u00a0know the result is infinitely clearer than what we started with.<\/p>\n<p>In the last frame of the diagram, any of the directories represented by the blue symbol could be an on-premise AD, a Windows Azure AD, something hybrid, an OpenLDAP directory, an Oracle directory or anything else.\u00a0 Our view is that having your directory operated in the cloud simplifies a lot.\u00a0 And we want WAAD to be\u00a0the best possible\u00a0cloud directory service, operating directories that are completely under the control of their data owners:\u00a0 enterprises, organizations,\u00a0government departments\u00a0and startups.<\/p>\n<p>Further comments welcome.<\/p>\n<p><img src=\"\/wp-content\/images\/2012\/07\/no_center_or_hub.jpg\" alt=\"\" \/><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Here is the homework we promised a couple of days ago<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":68,"featured_media":0,"comment_status":"closed","ping_status":"closed","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":[],"categories":[6,2,87],"tags":[],"_links":{"self":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.identityblog.com\/index.php?rest_route=\/wp\/v2\/posts\/1220"}],"collection":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.identityblog.com\/index.php?rest_route=\/wp\/v2\/posts"}],"about":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.identityblog.com\/index.php?rest_route=\/wp\/v2\/types\/post"}],"author":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.identityblog.com\/index.php?rest_route=\/wp\/v2\/users\/68"}],"replies":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.identityblog.com\/index.php?rest_route=%2Fwp%2Fv2%2Fcomments&post=1220"}],"version-history":[{"count":0,"href":"https:\/\/www.identityblog.com\/index.php?rest_route=\/wp\/v2\/posts\/1220\/revisions"}],"wp:attachment":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.identityblog.com\/index.php?rest_route=%2Fwp%2Fv2%2Fmedia&parent=1220"}],"wp:term":[{"taxonomy":"category","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.identityblog.com\/index.php?rest_route=%2Fwp%2Fv2%2Fcategories&post=1220"},{"taxonomy":"post_tag","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.identityblog.com\/index.php?rest_route=%2Fwp%2Fv2%2Ftags&post=1220"}],"curies":[{"name":"wp","href":"https:\/\/api.w.org\/{rel}","templated":true}]}}
