{"id":1190,"date":"2011-06-27T11:02:39","date_gmt":"2011-06-27T19:02:39","guid":{"rendered":"\/?p=1190"},"modified":"2011-06-27T11:10:51","modified_gmt":"2011-06-27T19:10:51","slug":"change-of-status","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.identityblog.com\/?p=1190","title":{"rendered":"Change of status"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>My work status has gone through &#8220;some changes&#8221; recently.<\/p>\n<p>A number of readers have written to me about <a href=\"http:\/\/www.zdnet.com\/blog\/microsoft\/kim-cameron-digital-identity-expert-leaves-microsoft\/9367\">Mary Jo Foley&#39;s report<\/a> on\u00a0a\u00a0&#8220;goodbye party&#8221; thrown at Microsoft a few weeks ago when I\u00a0officially gave up\u00a0my role as Chief Architect of Identity.\u00a0 Others saw <a href=\"http:\/\/blogs.msdn.com\/b\/vbertocci\/\" class=\"broken_link\">Vittorio Bertocci<\/a>&#8216;s <a href=\"http:\/\/blogs.msdn.com\/b\/vbertocci\/archive\/2011\/05\/08\/thank-you-kim.aspx\" class=\"broken_link\">kind recollection<\/a> of the progress we made over the years.<\/p>\n<p>When\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.kuppingercole.com\/watch\/eic11_interview_cameron\" class=\"broken_link\">Tim Cole\u00a0interviewed me<\/a> about my plans\u00a0a few days later at the European Identity Conference, I\u00a0hadn&#39;t made the slightest progress in terms of thinking about my future&#8230;\u00a0 I did say, though, that\u00a0I hoped to keep my hand in the identity and social computing space to the extent that people found my input useful.<\/p>\n<p>One way to do this\u00a0was to\u00a0look for opportunities to\u00a0participate in interesting efforts on a per-project basis.\u00a0\u00a0It\u00a0turns out that within a few days I was\u00a0asked to\u00a0do this\u00a0with Microsoft\u00a0over the summer.\u00a0 Not exactly a complete change (!) but it still feels liberating and different.<\/p>\n<p>Don&#39;t worry &#8211; I won&#39;t bore you with reports on my gigs going forward, but thought in the interests of full disclosure, you should know how this particular situation is evolving \ud83d\ude42<\/p>\n<p>Takeaway:\u00a0 Life is good, and even more than ever, this blog represents my own views, which can&#39;t be blamed on anyone else even when I wish they could.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I will keep my hand in the identity and social computing space to the extent that people find my input useful.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":68,"featured_media":0,"comment_status":"closed","ping_status":"closed","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":[],"categories":[12,2],"tags":[],"_links":{"self":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.identityblog.com\/index.php?rest_route=\/wp\/v2\/posts\/1190"}],"collection":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.identityblog.com\/index.php?rest_route=\/wp\/v2\/posts"}],"about":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.identityblog.com\/index.php?rest_route=\/wp\/v2\/types\/post"}],"author":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.identityblog.com\/index.php?rest_route=\/wp\/v2\/users\/68"}],"replies":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.identityblog.com\/index.php?rest_route=%2Fwp%2Fv2%2Fcomments&post=1190"}],"version-history":[{"count":0,"href":"https:\/\/www.identityblog.com\/index.php?rest_route=\/wp\/v2\/posts\/1190\/revisions"}],"wp:attachment":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.identityblog.com\/index.php?rest_route=%2Fwp%2Fv2%2Fmedia&parent=1190"}],"wp:term":[{"taxonomy":"category","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.identityblog.com\/index.php?rest_route=%2Fwp%2Fv2%2Fcategories&post=1190"},{"taxonomy":"post_tag","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.identityblog.com\/index.php?rest_route=%2Fwp%2Fv2%2Ftags&post=1190"}],"curies":[{"name":"wp","href":"https:\/\/api.w.org\/{rel}","templated":true}]}}
